x166 Transfer case fluid

Hi All. I have 2 questions. Is it common for the dealer to change the Transfer case fluid during a transmission fluid change. I think the answer is no
What is the correct transfer case fluid for a 2015 GL450. Pelican parts lists few options and they are all blue (ATF 134 FE) but I think I read on one of the threads that Transfer case fluid is red
Thanks in advance

Dealers don't change the transfer case or differential fluid unless you ask them to. Transfer case fluid is ATF134, red. That's what I drained from my 16' GL350.

Thanks for the reply. Is it possible that ATF134FE Blue is the updated version. Pelican parts does not list Red 134

ATF134 is for earlier 7G transmission and transfer case. ATF134FE blue is for newer transmissions, but the transfer case still uses the ATF134 red.

You can find the fluid type in your owner's manual but most MB transfer cases use the red ATF134 which is 236.14 spec. I would personally recommended that you drain and refill the transfer case every 10k miles, or every 2 engine oil changes. I've heard a lot of transfer cases gone bad but I'm not really sure how much difference it will make by replacing the fluid that often, but it's very cheap and easy to do.
