I brought in my 2013 GL550 for service around 2 weeks ago for an oil leak near the passenger side of the engine. My service advisor said it was the turbochargers leaking oil and that the turbo would need to be replaced. I have Endurance extended warranty, and they said that they "would only cover the part that failed", and therefore is recommending my service advisor to only change the "o-ring" that failed on the turbocharger. Is this type of leak common on the M278 engines?

 

How many miles?

If they only cover the part that fails, how many hours are they going to charge you vs replacing the turbo?

I am not knowledgeable about this topic but I am curious how this plays out.
