2014 GL550, timing chain repair or don't worry about it?
Hey guys. I am looking at purchase of a 2014 GL550. The car has 82000 miles on it and looks showroom new. The car is being sold at a volvo dealer. When I looked at the car yesterday, on cold start it had the timing chain tensioner rattle for about 5 seconds. Is this issue something that needs to be taken care of, or is it purely just a cosmetic sort of noise that doesn't cause any future issues?

Not sure if the 2014 cars were affected, but there was a TSB on installing oil check valves and updated tensioners on early X166 GLs. The symptom was exactly that - loud timing chain rattle for a few seconds on cold startup.
