gl63 main battery replacement.
just replaceds my main battery in my 2013 gl63. you have to move passenger seat all the way forward and up. if the truck is dead a jumper box will let you move it but won't start the truck.if you jump it with another vehicle you will have to let is charge for 30 minutes. if yoour battery hasn't been replaced, the carpet will be intact. get a sharp bleade and cut the carpet along the score marks. push the vent tubes left to losen it from the right side that it is attached too, then pull it out at an angle. the plate below the vent tube has 1 push pin on the right and 2 push tabs in the front. It will come out easly. use a 10mm socket to undo battery terminals and a 14 mm socket to undo the holding bracket. install in reverse order.

My 2014 GL 350 still has the original batteries (73,000 mi), no problems at all. I’m thinking of doing a replacement of both batteries before troubles arise. Does that make sense, or just wait.?
Thanks...
Thanks...

captivabenz--I'm in a similar situation. I have a 2015 GL350, 89K miles, everything works, no issues, and starts fine (knock on wood!). The OEM battery was manufactured Oct 2014 so it's over 6 years old now. My GL350 is primarily our travel car, so usually out of town when out of the garage. I've been wondering myself if I need to do a preemptive battery change (both batteries). And if so, should I go with new MB batteries or after market?

Do it now. 7 years is well into the red zone for battery life. Time to replace main and aux batteries.

I replaced mine be ause the dreaded red battery light was on. I've replaced it with mb battery, the old battery was a 2019 interstate so still under warranty. So now I've called my inde mech. To look at it. Probably the alternator base on other forum threads. I did take to dealer and they said battery so I bought one. The old interstate battery was not an agm battery. So I'll keep mb battery in there. I was thinking of changing the aux battery but that dash light is different. So I'll wait on it.
