Crank position sensor?

Hello all

just wondering if the gl550 has a crank position sensor? The other day it took a longer than normal time to crank, back in my E55 days that means the CPS on it way out. So is it time ?

Item 4 in the diagram. Generally, MB crank sensors are on the transmission bell housing near the engine block, on the top left (driver's) side. I think the sensor is looking at the driveplate/flexplate.

thanks. I don’t see the diagram but from the way you describe it it’s the same location as my e55

Sorry, here is the link. It gives you a part number an a vague location. Check driver side rear of engine at top of bell housing. Likely covered by a folded metal cover.
