Hello All,
To all 2013-2016 X166 GL-Class owners with Factory installed Towing Hitch: Can you please share a picture of the Fuse Box located under the middle seats, on the driver's side?
Just flip the seat, remove the fuse box cover and take a picture.
There is a grey area regarding the fuses utilized for the trailer hitch [option 550], and most specifically fuse 126 and trailer recognition harness 166-540-50-35.
After reading many threads I realized that I am not the only one confused. Hopefully with your help, we will resolve this issue and I will post a detailed document with the correct process, parts, etc.
Thanking you all in advance and I hope that you will contribute to resolve this matter.

MTM....THANK YOU...your pic is just fine and very informative.
Indeed fuse 126 is not there....which it seems to be the correct way after all.
Unfortunetely, there is limited info online, and of course MB technical bulletins are very hard to find. The diagrams I managed to find (from US and EU), contradict in regards to the wiring of the "trailer recognition module". (from module to SAM, fusebox, brake controller).
Let's hope that some more people will post a pic of their fuse box so we can compare some more.
Once again, Thank you MTM for your reply.

Jim Ma. Thank you...another proof that 126 is not used....even though it is mentioned in the fuse booklet.
I believe that MB created a general fuse booklet for all countries...ie fuse 111 is also mentioned in the fuse booklet as part of the tow pack but after research I found out that it is not for 494-US models.
So up to now:
Fuse #111 is mentioned in the US models fuse booklet, yet it is not used for US-models.
Fuse #126 is shown as part of the tow pack, yet the wire harness 166-540-50-35 which is the part # for the factory tow pack, does not have the wire for the specific fuse.
It will be great if we can compare pics of the Trailer Recognition Module as well. It is located behind the cover with the net holding the first aid kit (back right).
Jim Ma...thank you again for your support.
