Unhappy 2013 GL450 (V8) STARTER REPLACEMENT HELP?

Hello, I am about to go ahead and replace a starter on a 2013 GL450 (v8) and can not get around the fact that Identifix states the entire engine needs to be dropped for this.... I'm sure there's a way around this. Would anyone be able to provide and tips and/or insight? Thanks for reading.

2014 GL 450
Any more info on this? I'm looking at replacing the starter in my 2014 gl450 and a local MB "specialist" shop is quoting me $5800.

2013 GL450. Had a local independent shop replaced my starter… I got the ome from dealership on line wholesaler (around $500) and paid around $800 for labor…around $1300. They didn’t need to raise engine or do any crazy staff. Still not cheap…for a freaking starter, but that Mercedes for you. Lol.
