GL350 DEF, I do need your help!

Hello guys, I'm a new one here. I have some questions about my 2015 GL350. I do need your help. A month ago, the engine light turned on unexpectedly when I was driving. I went to the Benz dealer and did some inspections. The technician told me that the Ad-Blue pressure pipe (Parts No. 166-470-22-24) has dead and suggested replacing it. Due to this pressure pipe is used to heat the DEF and transfer the fluid to the emission system. I assume it won't be used in summer, so I decided to replace it until December. In this way, I drive my GL every day with the engine light on.
Yesterday, the ad-blue system came out with a warning that was DEF running low. Meanwhile, the amount of engine starting time goes counting down. I bought and refilled around 2 liters of DEF immediately, yet the engine warning unable to reset. Therefore, I only have 6 chances to start my engine till now.
I have two questions:
First, is there any basis that the issue of engine-start-counting-down un-resettable related to the previous issue? The Benz technician said that I have to replace the Ad-blue pressure pipe before resetting the computer of DEF warning.
Second, is any possibility that only reset DEF engine-count-down other than replacing the Ad-blue pressure pipe?
I'm looking forward to any words from you. Thank you very much!

You post does not say where you re located, but if you are in the USA this might be your lucky day.

There is currently a settlement between MB and the DOT/DOJ to replace virtually the entire emissions and exhaust systems and start a new 4-year warranty on those components. This includes fixing existing problems with the system that are covered by the new warranty.

If you are in Canada or the EU you're gonna have to get that repaired by other means, unfortunately.

Thank you so much for those words. Today is not my lucky day, because I'm in Canada

2013 Mercedes GL350 Bluetec (X166) & 2019 Mercedes A220 (W177) & Retired 2008 Mercedes C300 (W204)
I just had a similar issue with my 2013 GL350. Ad blue was low and had the light come on but the codes referenced - Nox sensor exceeded limits, AdBlue was low. and the upper limit value long term adaptation of SCR was exceeded. Also had 10 starts remaining.

1st thing to do is buy 2 of the 20L jugs of DEF fluid and fill it in the vehicle. I bought it from the dealer as it was $16.08 each versus $19.99 at CDN Tire. Once filled, I tried 2 methods that I had found online
  • 1st was a series of turning the ignition to the Acc on (2nd click with key in ignition), pressing and holding the gas pedal, etc but that did not work.
  • 2nd was driving the vehicle for 30 miles above a certain speed and perform a few decelerations but that did not work for me either.
I have access to Xentry so plugged it in and was able to locate in the adaptation tab for the CDI and SCR modules options to reset the adblue level (certain level sensors in the adblue tank needed to be "immersed"), relearn the upper limit value long term adaption and then an option if there was the adblue message on the display. But after a few attempts the counter was removed and after checking the Nox sensor values, it was normal and working within specified ranges, CEL was cleared as well. I was down to 6 starts left at that point.

Might be a trip to the dealer or if your Autel has access to the adaptations and teach-in processes, try accessing those options. If your in the GTA, I can help out with my Xentry.
