Airmatic Pump replacement

I'm going to pre-emptively replace the airmatic pump because it sounds like its on the way out and I've had some heat shutoff messages in the cluster from it.

Replacement came with a fresh relay, and WIS says to replace the relay. Does anyone know why the relay would need to be replaced?

Usually seized pump damages relay. If your pump being operational before change - no need to change relay

The relays also fail causing the pump to run continuoisly so just replace it since you have it. Won't hurt and will prevent the old relay from taking out the new pump. If you read the instructions with the new pump they usually insist that the relay be changed. That is why they included it.

I just replaced my rear air shocks, two front air struts, compressor air line filter, and wanted to replace the relay also, but don't know which relay to replace. I've seen somewhere while researching that there is a particular one that is more reliable, but I couldn't find where I read that again.
What is the number/model of relay that you got? And also if anyone is familiar with this subject, I greatly appreciate your input as to which relay to get also...

Hi local person @v6pwr , I replaced my pump but didn't swap the relay. I'm taking the GL on a trip, but when I get back I'll take a look at WIS and see which relay it is.

Did you look on the inside of the cover? Sometimes there is a diagram with labels in there.
