If you are buying this car you should definitely do a pre purchase inspection,i thought i got a good deal on my car but it actually needed a lot of work,some things you can do yourself such as press in new bushings,spark plugs,filters change etc.
it has 119k miles,it drove great when i bought it and it still does
so in last 7500 miles i have replaced:
-rear airbags-200$ oem bags from ebay and 200$ labor to install(car would go all the way down overnight)
-radiator-800$
-turbo coolant return lines 1400$(it would leak lot less in cold weather)
-new tires-found a good deal on toyos on walmart website 275/50/20 installed 550$
-air intake hose 50$
-now need to do front brakes 900$
-motor mounts 1200$
-diff mount 250$
-front lower control arm bushings 750$(ill try this myself)
-brake fluid flush 200$
front cv boots 550$
-force matched wheels and tires(common cause for vibration at 75mph)350$
im hoping once i fix all this and flush diff and transmission fluid car will be good for another 50k miles
DIY is the way to go on brakes. They are very easy to change on the X166. My rotors were stuck on the hub so those took a bit of work to get off. In the end, spent $400 for new pads and rotors on my GL63.
They were $400 shipped when I purchased for front and rear pads and rotors. Amazon and Ebay seem to be out of these for now. Either way, I can pieces a similar setup for my 63 for around around $600 but it can be done cheaper for a 550 or 450.
