Are hardware/pipe changes must with Adblue + DPF software Delete

I am looking to delete the Adblue System + DEF system on my 2015 GL 350 and currently exploring Delete services (e.g. referred to Murphy with Euro Luxury in Toronto by McNally Auto).

TWO questions
1 - Given the above software deletes, do I need to remove hardware as well such as DPF? One Tuner told me that DEF regen will still happen like it used to and there is no need to remove hardware component but then Tuner B have told me the exact opposite? I am trying to minimize any hardware changes hence asking.
2 - If I do the software changes but DO NOT remove the hardware pipes and DPF components, is there a way to keep DPF clean? Tuner A suggested that I clean it every year by removing the temp sensor or have a mechanic do it.

For background, I am not an expert but have been researching this for a while so please bear with me. Unlike US, Canada does NOT cover most the emission challenges/repairs - they only covered particulate sensor for me but I had to replace NOx myself 8 months ago and now I have a P20B9 showing with CEL which is why I am considering the above software deletes and trying to avoid hardware changes (unless I must)

Once again apologize if my questions have been answered before (I searched but didnt get specific answers)
Thank you so much for your help.

DPF is Diesel particle filter. It is separate system from AdBlue Def...
DPF is a high temperature catalyst used to catch and after burn diesel particles. DEF is separate system design to lower NO output.

Thank you.

So then I should ask would deleting dpf through software also affect regen etc. and willl it lead to clogging of dpf.

my only concern is if I should remove the dpf physically alongwith software delete?

If you want to "delete" DEF you can just make DEF system inactive through software. To remove DPF you need actually take your DPF out cut it open and remove ceramic filter otherwise turning DPF and "regen" off will make it clogged so your exhaust. Regen is a mode then excessive fuel being dumped so DPF filter got extremely hot and burns all accumulated diesel soot.
I would say - just turn off DEF system, but leave DPF and regen active.

Thank you arsupisemnet - appreciate your time.

So I have gotten only the 'AdBlue' Delete per tuner recommendation - tuner said that no need to touch any other part or Hardware removal as the rest of the systems should continue to work as needed (DPF etc.).
I think this aligns with you what you suggested above.

Also do I need to do any preventive action to ensure that the car remains trouble free?
1 - Do I just lead the DEF liquid (I had the tank at least 3/4 full) now that it wont be used?
2 - I also heard about 1-2 times a year DPF cleaning (by using liquid through removal of temp sensor)

For those in Toronto/GTA area: this was done by Cartech in Toronto - referred by a friend (and it seems they do a lot of German car repair and specifically MB Sprinter work- sharing for those who may be interested)

I would remove DEF liquid from the tank and pipes. It will freeze if temperature goes below water freezing.
You don't need to clean DPF. Regen is a DPF cleaning procedure. Unless you have money to spend.

What is the contact info for Cartech? and How much did you pay?
