Cylinder head replaced at 50K?
This was done in April of 2019
Given the time the cylinder head was replaced - would this already being replaced alleviate most of those worries about cylinder #5 failure I keep hearing about?
I called the repair facility and they said that it was a "torque converter locked up and bad compression in cylinder #5". The car was then sent to a MB dealership where it got the repair done.
The MB dealership would NOT share the service history with me unless I am the owner of the vehicle - So I have to buy the car to find out whats in the car... LOL Like congress and their bills?
So I guess the question is: when these get repaired/replaced by MB, are they then considered "bulletproofed" as far as a future failure is concerned or should I be MORE concerned?
Car currently has 56K on the clock.
If they did replace the entire harness, it is possible it may have left the old sensors, which will leak into the harness again. I certainly would not be "more" concerned, it is good repair to have in the history.
Try pushing that dealer to give up service records!!!
The camshaft sensors is easy to replace. I did that on my CLS63 right off the bat.
The good part about buying from Carvana is that I get 7 days to make a decision. So when I get it, I can call them as the owner and get the details of the actual repair.
I also see in the CarFax that there is an entry that says "Computer reprogrammed" at 56K right before being traded in to Carvana... I'll be asking about that too.

I had the same issue w records. In fact one person said they would fax them and when it came time, her boss would not let her bc the owners address was on there. I suggest remove it, cut it out, etc they still refused. This would be my primary concern, what you dont know.
There are a multitude of potential issues, I may just be overly sensitive.
I am looking at buying a 2019 now, selling or trading my 2014 in. Great car now, once I replaced the motor and a bunch of other stuff. The "new" one does include all the MB service records interestingly.
