13 gl450 cam codes
I went to look at a 2013 GL450 this afternoon. 85,000 miles. Has a bunch of Cam codes. P0342, p0341, p0347, p0391 and p0392. Also has a p024313.
I took it for a brief test drive, and didn't seem like it had the same power as my 2014, which would be explained by the turbo code, and probably the others. However, I didn't get it out of the parking lot so it's possible that the power was there but I just never got past the turbo lag.
I know that this m278 engine has issues with these cam sensors, and with the cam sensors wicking oil up to the harness and ECU. I haven't been able to find anything that's got all of these codes, and I'm wondering if this is indicative of the oil issue, or of something else. Any help is appreciated, as this is a car at auction that is running tomorrow.
The magnets on the front of the engine were clean, and appeared to have the blue markings on them, which appeared likely factory to me as it was the same blue that was on several of the bolt heads there. I did not take the covers off to look at the cam sensors because I didn't know about that issue when I looked at the car, and only have found it by researching this evening. The entire engine bay was clean and detailed, so it's not out of the ordinary for the magnets to be clean. perhaps unfortunate as it would be nicer to know if they were clean all the rest of the engine was dirty is that would potentially mean someone tried to fix the problem and it wasn't those. No history on the car is known or obtainable. The build sheet data said that it was a February 2013 delivery, as I know that the build sequence seems to have some play in retrofits done for these engines.

I'd assume the engine harness has oil in it, and the cam sensors and magnets all have to be replaced. Maybe the computer and harness, too, at a large cost. Maybe that's why it ended up at the auction, the previous owner was told it would require an engine-out cable harness replacement plus all the cam sensors plus ?? and didn't want to spend the money. If you end up buying it, please let us know what needs to be repaired, so we can all learn from it. Even if you don't end up buying it, please let us know what the auction sale price was. In this crazy used car market, even with a bunch of issues it might be worth more than we think.

This place is a joke.
Prices on these are dropping fast. I know of one with 98k miles and a seized engine (V8) the dealer offered $1k on trade, as the repair cost exceeds the value of the vehicle.

chassis: no, it went through an auction. I was trying to figure out what was wrong with it to see if it was worth buying. I didn't bid.
