GL350 Approved Emissions Modification - Issues???

I own a 2014 GL350 with about 68K miles (sole owner). I had the Approved Emissions Modification (AEM) done a little over a year ago on it. A couple months after I had it done I did a 500+ mile drive. When I turned engine back on, the check engine light came on & had it diagnosed at a dealer as the adblue temperature sensor which my dealer replaced at no cost since it was under the extended warranty from the AEM. A year later, my check engine light came on again. I took it in and dealer says this time it is the adblue delivery pump which they are replacing at not cost since it is also under the extended warranty from the AEM. I was wondering are people having issues like this after having their AEM done? Is this about the time that these components start to wear down & need replacing/repair or did the dealer mess them up when doing the AEM? I've never had the check engine come on before these incidents.

I don’t believe that those adblue system components are touched during the AEM. IMHO, it sounds like you are benefiting from the extended warranty.

Those issues has nothing to do with AEM or any kind of service. Just a normal pain in the butt for DEF equipped vehicles, there is a reason why most 18 wheelers trying to have this system removed. In general DEF is water based solution of urea (**** basically) which has freezing point, so it tend to either freeze or crystalize everywhere it can, causing problems either with temp sensors (usually it is not a temp sensor, but heater got damaged because of some particular reasons) or pumps. That is one of the reason why 2009ish e class diesel has tremendous aftermarket value for diesel equipped models - no def no problems.
