Front & Rear Differential GL450
I am going to change the front & rear differential fluids on my 2013 GL450. (114k miles)
I had the dealership recently change the transmission and transfer case fluid.
It looks like it takes 3 quarts of 75W 85 fluid. The local dealer fluid is $67 per quart.
Is it worth using the Mercedes fluid or what alternative fluid would you recommend? Can you confirm the recommended weight?
I’ve used Mobil 1 gear oil on other vehicles.
Thank You

Sedans and GLK/GLC use integrated transfer cases with a center differential. Fluid is shared between transmission and t/case.
All 4MATIC vehicles have center differentials and transfer cases. The implementation details are different for larger SUVs vs smaller SUVs and sedans.
The transfer case on your GL uses "transmission fluid", with a different MB spec designation than the transmission itself. The hang-on t/case is sealed and has its own fluid, not shared with the transmission.
