Jumped my 2008 GL320 Mercedes now liftgate not working
I jumped the GL it was sitting for 1month battery was dead It did start but now my left tail light stays ON and my lift gate does not go up and down. It does unlock but no movement. I had no issues before the jump start I did use the posts under the hood. I bought this GL320 with 30k miles on it looked like it rolled off the showroom floor. I didn't realize it looked so new was it is a complete POS. The most unreliable car I have ever owned. I cannot imagine why people buy these cars. After jumping the left rear taillight driving light stays ON with car locked all other lights off. All other tail lights do not function no brake or turn signal lights are working. I checked all fuses not a single bad fuse. The lift gate doesn't show in the fuse diagram so I Ohmed out every fuse. I believe it's the module but not sure. I read about a back up battery but I do not believe my gl has one. Is there a body control module or light module and we're is it located in the body? Worst mistake in my automobile choice history stealership most incompetent techs and management ever experienced.

Post this in the X164 forum as this is for the later (2013-2106) X166 GL.
That said, those vehicles are insanely sensitive to weak/poor batteries, and yes, you have two. Troubleshooting weird stuff starts with getting the batteries sorted first. Both of them.

You should stick with Porsche; they're much more reliable.
What position is your headlamp switch in?
A 15 year old vehicle (of ANY make) is not without issues. Buy a scanner, learn how to use it, and enjoy the ride. Or get a Honda.
Edited to add: If you are unable/unwilling to do the work yourself (and most of what goes wrong on these cars is well documented and surprisingly easy to fix): Find a good indy mechanic who knows the car. The dealership will inevitably cost more than reasonable and the techs will have forgotten how a 15 year old car works - you'll be paying for their reeducation.

Thanks for a response.I reposted in x164 however the switch is in the OFF position. I have been a mechanic for 40yrs and it is unacceptable to me for a 84k mile car to have these many issues over the years. It breaks all the time. I read on this forum where people are replacing timing chain at 80k thinking it normal. But I jumped the suv and now its horrible never in my years have I ever had this happen. Do you know were the light module is located in the x164?
