2013 GL450. 80K miles.
To be clear, it is not an audible noise. When I turn the wheel, there is feedback I could feel caused by either friction or something else.
This is one of those things you, the driver, could feel but no one else. My wife complained so I decided to test drive and I could certainly feel it.
What could cause this? What are the steps I could take to troubleshoot further?
Thanks in advance. Other than that, the car has been absolutely zero problem for 10 years.

Funny enough, ive started to notice a VERY VERY faint high pitch whine like theres some friction somehwere on my steering column. Anyone else ever notice anything?
yeah super hard to describe but you can only feel it when you put your hands on the wheel. I have done lots of search and the only thing that I found was to check the fluid level or leak.
X166 uses the hydraulic system. Only the very recent MB uses an electric servo based steering system.
X166 has electric power steering.
There was a recall for electric power steering rack bolts - I would check whether or not it was done on your car.

Thanks for the info. I guess I was wrongly informed by a local mechanic.
I also found the recall mentioned below.
