glovebox latch barrel missing

2014 GL450
glovebox latch barrel missing
Hello, I just purchased a 2014 GL450. I didn't realize that the glovebox latch barrel is missing. There is a hole where the key/barrel goes...

When I pull on the latch, the glovebox does not open. Can I push a screwdriver in the hole where the barrel was and get the glovebox latch to release? Can anyone please provide some help on how I can get the glovebox open?
