Easier Battery Replacement
Currently, I have 2015 GL550, which I recently bought, and it needs a replacement. I heard good things about EverStart, how they are made by the same Interstate battery factory. These are sold by Walmart and I went there expecting them to refuse to do the replacement since the battery is under the passenger seat. They did it for free!!
I know other places like AAP, O'Reilly and others will ask for extra $$ as labor or just refuse to install it.
The only scary part is that the old battery in the car is Die Hard and it is made in 03/2023. This leads me to believe that the problem is not in the battery, or maybe I had a premature failure with the Die Hard.
So, just FYI if you want to have a quick replacement with no additional fees.
But that's just me.
TBH, you're best bet is to get an interstate (the OEM supplier) - Costco sells them.
I'd recommend that you use a long socket adaptor wrapped in rubber to do the install. The rubber acts as an insulator and helps to prevent accidental shorting, which will cause all kinds of issues. The process is pretty simple, aside from if it's your first battery change, in which case you might need to cut the carpet a bit.
Both Everstart (Walmart) and Interstate (Costco) are made by the same manufacturer, Everstart has a 4-year warranty while Interstate offers 3 years warranty
Next time, I would get Odyssey Performance 49-950 from FCP Euro. A good battery with FCP lifetime warranty, just worry about shipping it back.
Thank you for the input.
