2017 Running Board Removal

Does anybody on here know what the part number is for the plastic trim piece that would cover the exposed rocker panel after the running boards were removed? My father is looking at a GLS63, but needs the running boards removed. They're too narrow to fit your whole foot on and stepping over them requires too long of a leg extension to get in/out safely in the snow/ice. Makes for a dangerous situation and is an accident waiting to happen. Stupid design if you ask me--just like the running boards on ML/GLE's. Looks like GLS 350 in Europe can be had without running boards. No, it doesn't matter if the GLS 350 part doesn't line up with the 63's fender flares.

TIA!

GL450
I had to do the same thing to my GL450. I believe the parts should be the same for the GLS. If you search the MB parts catalog, looks in the 'Body-Exterior Trim Pillars' section. You need to replace the inner supports and the outer rocker molding panels. It's not a difficult swap. Just have to tie the harness for the running board lights out of the way and remove the extensions for the jack points in the process of the replacement.
