Buy a 2015 GL450?

Thinking about buying a 2015 GL450 with 140k miles from a reputable source. What are some things I should ask/look for to see if they have been maintained? What are common things to fail on this model? I know "it depends" but what's a reasonable asking price?

I have two 2015s, one with 130k miles, one with 90k. On the 130k one, I just had to have timing chain tensioners redone, which wasn't cheap. Transmission service also just got done, albeit a bit late (think it should have been done at 120k).

Make sure the suspension airbags are working - they are easy to replace as a DIY project for about $170 a corner and 30 mins, but the dealership will charge a ton for it.

The 90k one had a cracked engine mount and is starting to need new wheel bearings. I guess at 140k you're not miles away from possibly needing another set of those.

I rent these cars out and I regularly get folks commenting how much they love these cars. Depending on price (with that mileage, I'd hope you're paying 12-13k at most), you'll have good times with that car.

The 2015 450 has a 6-cyl M276 engine, not the V8 M278.

Check the engine number to see if it had the check valve repair completed. This relates to oil pressure to chain tensioners. Affects early M276.

https://diag.net/msg/m7gexhtjw6zhdfyqbk520fguau

M276 8 V6 engines

For vehicles with engine number up to 276 8xx … install check valves and revised chain tensioners.

For vehicles with engine number 276 8xx … through engine number 276 8xx … install check valves only (revised chain tensioners are already installed in this production range).

Yep, forgot they started that in 2015. Much smarter buy.
