Air Suspension wont stop after turn off
2014 GL 350 150k miles
I hear the compressor clicking for the air ride system It kills the battery after 12 hours and ever 8-10 seconds I hear a slight whirring noise in the rear.
this problem had been ongoing for weeks. Last week one of my rear air suspension shocks exploded while hauling a small trailer.
thinking that the reason for the clicking near the compressor was the related to the air shock failure, I replaced the ride level sensors, the valve block, air compressor and the rear shocks.
Still making the noise a clicking on and off from the compressor and the whirring noise in the rear. ANY ideas? I think it may be the relays but I swapped them around and the problem still occurs...

Star System
Get your hands on a Star System asap and test the complete system. I have done it quite a few times on my 164 cars after replacing components.

It is the original Troubling shooting system Mercedes use. It is the only system I am aware of that you can test all the air suspension components looking for leaks and functionality. If you can’t do that than the old soapy water spray bottle and start looking for air leaks.

I had airmatic on W211, at the times when SD clone would cost about $1000.
So instead, I bought 4 mm tee and some tubing, what allow me installing pressure gauge on the system and also hook up compressor.
By hooking up shop compressor, you can take your time to go under with spray bottle, filled up with soapy water.
The 100 years old testing method still works.
Also sounds like you abused your compressor and drier pretty much.
Time to take them apart, rebuild the compressor and recycle drier granules in the toaster.
