Disconnecting oil pump solenoid on M287

Assume you mean M278,
No specific instructions I'm aware of, but best to tackle from the bottom, unplug the connector from the solenoid and zip tie the connector somewhere (I used the WP hose on my M157).
Here is a photo of the solenoid if you're not sure what to look for or where it's located (directly opposite the crank pulley, on the alternator side)

wow. that thread is 99 pages long. not sure if i will have time to read that today. if you did it, how did you deal with the CEL after puling the plug?

Shows 27 of whom contributed to the survey unplugged had an M278.

No CEL on the ML63 after disconnecting, just a silent fault code. I think your GL will be the same, no CEL.
