GL-350 Coolant Leak - recommended materials?

GL-350 Coolant Leak - recommended materials?
My gl-350 has developed an AC leak - when I charge it up it will cool fine, but a few weeks later it will only cool effectively when the AC is on low, which isn't enough given our current heat wave 
I'm considering two options - There is a product called stop leak that I can inject on the high side when I charge up the AC. And there is a UV Dye product (same company?) that I can use.
Are these safe to use on the GL? Anything I should be worried about? I assume it's less than a 1 ton unit so I can use the "small" stop leak if I go that route.
Autozone also sells a recharge "kit" that has a leak stop component in it - not sure if those are any better/worse?
Hopefully someone knows the "best" route to go - should I try to find the leak and then somehow seal it , or put in a leak stop and hope for the best - or something else entirely (I always look for an excuse to break out the mig welder ;-) )

I don't have an answer, but have a similar question, so I'm interested in what advise you're given. My 2012 ML350 also has a coolant leak and wanted to see If I could find it using a UV dye. The product I'm considering is Enviorosafe Replacement R134a with dye. My question is will it in anyway harm the system or complicate an repair required?
