GL450 with cylinder scoring

GL450 with cylinder scoring
So I have a 2014 GL450 that sounds like it has cylinder scoring. Haven’t verified yet though….
My question is when the time comes, what are my options for possible swapping to a different and possibly more reliable engine? Not too worried about performance gain or loss as this is just a family hauler. I have heard that its possible to swap the 4.6 with a 5.5? Has anyone attempted this route versus a rebuild?

So apparently what I was told is the 550 and 450 share the same engine to be the exact and correct there both same displacement, the 550 is just tuned and the 450 is de tuned. which is why base is 362 and stock 550 is 400 plus
