picked this up today. difference from my GL500 are

lighter steering, more punch, better brakes, sounds better, looks better.

on 3 occasions, I've had a knocking sensation through the steering wheel at lowish speeds. 3 distinct vibration knocks through the wheel 3 times, and no it's not the tyres running over something on the road. any idea?

You must be drifting out of your lane and the vehicle is letting you know by three gentle knocks on the steering wheel. When you go out of your lane to much the vehicle will actually apply brakes to one side to correct and put you back in the lane. Try switching lanes with and without using the turn signals to see the difference.

Agreed.... I turn that part of the system off on my car (active lane keeping assist...it actually adds speed bump feel)... Totally annoying especially if you are on tight roads and moving over to avoid cyclists....

You won't have lighter steering in suspension mode 2 AMG++ it actually changes the steering to a tighter and less light feel (that I prefer), it changes the shift points one extra notch, and lastly drops the car another inch.

If every time you get into your car and you press the C S M button on the console... It will turn off the ECO and put the car in sport auto mode..this will give you stage one of horsepower and shift points ( no change in steering ) AMG+.... If the suspension button has two lights then you are in AMG++ as described above!

Enjoy your new ride and welcome to the club.

Very smart idea. Those are ContiSport tires on the standard OEMs, right?
