It possible to replace the bang tweeters, keep it fully stock looming and a fully functioning led. I replaced the bang tweeters with a pair of old school Eclipse 8062 tweeters, and WOW what a difference! Not that I’d ever go back to the old stock tweeters, but I can if I wanted to.
Took apart the tweeter assembly and put it back together without the stock tweeter. Soldered the new tweeter wires in, and while the new tweeter fit ver snug, I used a little hot glue to hold it just in case.
The wires going right into the tweeters are black and the positive wire is heat-shrinked red at the terminal.
The wires from the factory amp to the tweeter assembly are as follows:
Left tweeter
yellow and yellow/black stripe
Right tweeter
green and green/black stripe
here is what the back looks like… (the stock foam fits back in with no issues). Also snapped a picture of it with the light activated.
The B/O is probably one of the better stock system I’ve heard. But, I’ve been in the car audio world a long time and consider myself and audiophile hobbiest.
That said, the B/O doesn’t stack up to a mid range aftermarket setup. I’m working on the doors and a few amps this week. I’ll post updates.
