2018 GLS63 with 100k miles
I am considering purchasing a one owner 2018 GLS63, it has regular well documented maintenance on CARFAX by a Mercedes’ dealer it’s whole life. It’s at a Chevy dealer currently presumably from a trade in.
the challenge is it is on the west coast and I am In the Midwest. Obviously I would have a Mercedes’ dealer do an inspection before considering. If the price is right, is this a great idea or a terrible idea?
Is there anything specific I should ask the dealer to look at as far as common problems? Is there anything pretty much guaranteed to go bad or major maintenance required at 100k or 120k miles I should factor in pricing? How is the longevity of the motor and transmission?
I’ve done some research and doesn’t seem like many people have put a ton of miles on these things so I appreciate any insight you all have.

The 166 chassis is solid. This means body, suspension, interior and electrical. The M157/M278 engine is developing a reputation for cylinder scuffing, a fatal flaw. Do some research on this site regarding scuffing.

Turbo coolant lines will need to be replaced soon if not already done. You will probably start having issues with the multi-contour seats. Pads and rotors will probably be in need of replacement. Various other issues are possibilities. Plugs will also need replacement soon. Budget around $5k in the next year or so in repairs/maintenance.
