Hello, just bought a 2014 GL63 with 55000 miles. The rear seat entertainment system has two screens. There is definitely a DVD player in the back end of the center console. Pressing the silver rectangular “button” (the dvd “flip door” does nothing - will not open”. Gently prying also no joy. It’s almost like the door to acces the DVD player (which is supposed to tilt forward) is jammed or locked shut. I know these cars have a lot of bells and whistles but I cannot imagine the dvd door is electronic. Is there a mechanism that might be broken in mine?

Just smashed this with my fist and it opened! The solution here is that it was a stuck door and a little brute force worked. It’s a push to open push to close mechanism. Thanks to all on here that commented on how to operate this.

I’m with you, this forum seems to be dead whenever I make a thread / ask a question as well.

Update to this is it is a definite hard push forward and then it opens. It’s not a pry pull to open the dvd unit but again, a strong push forward which then releases the door with opens outward. Closing is same just push forward (less force on closure side though).
