I continue my struggle to get OEM tow package installed in my recently purchased 2016 GL63 AMG. I have learned a lot in the last couple weeks, but for sure every time a turn the corner a new question or issue arises.
I have obtained what I think is the correct in vehicle wire harness A1665404935, and this seems to be the correct match for the towing control module A2469005501 (photo below) that I wish to obtain from Ebay next....
My question is are all these tow modules with this part # identical, or is it possible that some internal firmware is different between models and model years. This module is used in a lot of the various GL.....
Just wondering if it matters which one I purchase, and if they are all the same no matter what vehicle they came out of?? Anyone know if that is true, or if it is more complicated than just getting the best, working, one I can find.
