Hi guys

I sold my 22MY AMG GLS63 a year or so ago as it just didn’t feel AMG enough, especially the ride dynamics, I commented at the time that the X166 version felt more AMG like.

Anyway, I read that for the 2024 refresh the software was changed to improve the ride of them, so can that same software be programmed to the early 167’s or is the hardware/components used in the 24 different too, what changes were made and are they noticeable to make it feel more AMG.

I have a chance to re-purchase my old car back, so this software update would influence my decision a whole lot.

Thanks
Carl

Interesting. I have a 2021 GLS63 and absolutely hate the ride quality so much that I am going to the dealership tomorrow to possibly trade it in. I will ask the service manager about this first and report back.

You cannot simply flash the 2024 software to your older car. The 2024 refresh uses different hardware, including new steering gear and dampers. The software is calibrated for that specific hardware. The parts are not a direct swap, and no dealer will perform the update. The change is noticeable, but you're stuck with the 2022 setup. If the ride was the main issue, you likely won't be happy getting the same car back.

Just purchased a 2023 and I didn't notice a difference from the 2024 I drove. Did they change something from 22 to 23?
