2025 Order Guide
What is going on? Did MB think the GLA45 would poach sales of the new GLC43? Any thoughts?

It’s selling in the same category as Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda CRV, Toyota RAV4. Buyers don’t see it as different enough to consider it a BMW X2 competitor. GLB resale values are holding up but GLA loses ½ new price in 2 years.
Even in these forums it’s being criticized, right or wrong, as “not a real Mercedes” and “Nissan with MB badging.” We had to put a Santa Fe in the family fleet (10 vehicles) after our ‘21 user said, “disappointed, unreliable, would not buy again.”

But all that aside, the reality is that MB is selling less than 1000 GLAs a month in the US market.

I really like my GLA and so far it’s been very reliable. If it’s the right car for the purpose, I’d recommend one again. The GLB and GT drivers are very happy.
But even though I put the other GLA driver in the car, I don’t make the decisions alone and she hates the car. I would get her out of it, but the resale/trade-in is so bad, it’s too far upside down right now.
