Very small

On Friday, I went to check a GLA250 at our local dealer.
From the outside the car looked nice. Black color. Nice finish. BUT the inside is very small. I am 6'3'' and I had a problem to get in the car. I had to bend my head to pass over the upper side of the door frame. With the seat at the lowest position and all the way back, the driving position was akward. It seems that I was driving a sedan with a high hood.
Otherwise nice layout and finish, even the command/navigation screen looked as an after market addition not being integrated in the dashboard.
The trunk was OK for this smal car. No spare .
I guess for a driver under 5'11 it will be a very nice car. I started to drive it , the engine felt quite peppy but I had to return as due to the position, the driving was a pain.
Sorry as we wanted to get a nice little car to downsize from the ML 350

A gaggle of MB's
So you know... the GLA is a "compact crossover" - in that theme a luxury and tech upgraded from the Nissna/Honda. Suburu, in the same theme as the Evoque.

The new 3rd generation ML from 2012+ is a entirely different animal than your 2nd generation ML - so give that a whirl as a benchmark - you will be very/very impressed - for my 2 cents the 2015 ML250 will be very/very intriguing so you know.

You should also "test fit" a drive in the GLK... rock solid, in the same powerplant combo's as the ML, and the GLK is rock-rock solid in the theme of generous headroom, great visibility all around, a standout in "compact SUV's" in this category. Under appreciated by those who haven't owned one, very/very appreciated by those that do own a GLK.. the 250 BlueTech in the GLK is outstanding economy for a upright standing SUV, 350 version is a downright scoot and go machine compared to the more anemic 4 bangers in that price point.

Keep the beat !

GLK350

Thank you . I went and tried a GLK350 and you were right. A solid car and overall nice.. The only issue is that I heard that the 2016 model year will be revamped. Did any body heard this? If indeed so I will wait . I am also curious if the new Lexus NX will not be a good fit for our needs but it will not be out until November

.
If you're looking at the NX, go and sit in a RAV-4 to get an idea.

Yes a new GLK arrives for the 2016 model year. The new one should be shown early next year like at the Geneva show in March or at the NYC show in April.

I am 5'10" and sat on GLA. I also agree that the car is small. I have a 2013 Golf TDI and I fit inside better. The interior of the GLA is very well done though...
