The I've Got a 2016 GLA On Order Thread
We're waiting for our GLA250 Sport, with most options to show up. It was supposedly built yesterday, but because MB hasn't seemed to release any 2016 GLA's in the US yet, I thought it would be good if anyone else has one on order and we can see when anyone's built one arrives.
Please chime in if you've got one on order. |
Was just notified the car is built, and waiting to be shipped, but no ship date has been scheduled.
|
My 2016 GLA 250 4Matic was built on September 18th, loaded on the vessel on September 29th and due in Baltimore on October 10th.
I hope to take delivery next week. |

I hope to take delivery next week. This is day two since our GLA250 Sport 4Matic was built, without any news of it being trucked or shipped to Tampa. EDIT: You may be right. I've tried to find any information about the GLA being made in Alabama and I can't find any. My dealer told me it was being built there, but that doesn't mean it was. Which really bites. As now I may be waiting for it to be shipped here. Bummer to the max....... |
Well......I just pushed my dealer to tell me where the GLA is. Even after telling me he saw them being built on the assembly line in Alabama, when he toured the facility, the reality is the car is in Germany, waiting for it's voyage across the ocean to the US.
This really puts a wrinkle in things. My 2016 C300 Sport is sitting at the dealer and I had hoped to get both at the same time. Ah, the best laid plans, right? |

That's exciting. But loaded on a vessel? They're made in Tuscaloosa, AL, to my knowledge. At least that's what my dealer told me. They could certainly be wrong though......

Yes, my C300, which is sitting at my dealer, which I can't get until the GLA arrives, was made in Alabama. Grumble Grumble Groan!
|
Still no news on where the GLA is..........I've just resigned myself that I won't be getting the C300 Sport which is here until they call and say the GLA has arrived.

Re GLA
Hi,
Just reading that you are waiting on the arrival of your new GLA, I live in Australia, purchased a new GLA about one month ago, on checking the vehicle I noticed that it was made in Czechoslovakia, after reading what you have said I had a look online to see where Mercedes are making the GLA now? I found the following online. Bye the way, they are a realy great car to drive and I am sure you will be very happy with your new Mercedes GLA :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mercedes-Benz has begun production of the GLA SUV at its assembly plant in Pune, India, expanding its local production portfolio to six model series. The plant has recently been extended and now has a capacity of 20,000 units annually, the largest for any luxury carmaker in India. With the production of the GLA, the Pune facility will build six different model series: S-, E- and C-Class sedans as well as GL, M-Class and GLA SUVs. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks. It's a great looking colour for the GLA when you see it in the metal.

As of yesterday my ordered 2016 GLA 250 4Matic is now sitting at the Baltimore, MD VPC.
But according to my salesman their dealership is still "waiting for Mercedes-Benz USA to release the 2016 GLA pricing and vehicles nationwide." |
As of this morning, our GLA250 Sport 4Matic is still sitting at the port in Germany, waiting to be assigned a ship. The dealership inventory manager just came back from a meeting in Atlanta and they were told the 2016's won't be released till the end of October at the earliest. This is a bummer for sure............
|
MBUSA now has 2016 GLA pricing and Build your own.
|
A pretty nice $$ increase over the 2015. But then there are options in the P1 package, that weren't standard in the 2015, like Keyless Go. So, it balances out overall.........
The fact they've at least announced the 2016 pricing and options, means your car should be released soon. If'n ours ever makes it's way across the ocean, maybe they'll be releasing them to dealers by then. If'n it ever is assigned to a ship, that is.........:smash: |
Took delivery of my 2016 GLA 250 4Matic yesterday. :D

So, our GLA is now on the ocean and expected to hit the US next Thursday, October 29th. This means it won't make it to our dealer, until early November.
|
And the GLA has landed in the US. It's in Brunswick, GA. Now, it just has to get through the VPC and trucked to Tampa, which according to MapQuest is only 4.5 hours away. How long that will take, I have no clue. But I did suggest to my sales guy that it should be here by a week from tomorrow as I took the day off to take delivery of both the GLA and C300.
|
And it appears we're not going to get the GLA when it does arrive in Tampa. We've switched over to a Designo Cardinal Red GLC. Going to the GLC, will actually save us money as there will be incentives available, which will help eat a couple of the remaining lease payments on the E350 Coupe were turning in early.
