Oil Change

I changed the oil and filter the other day and was looking for a way to reset the oil reminder that keeps poping up. There is great info on how to do a 2015 but it doesnt work on a 2016.... Called the service department in Colorado Springs left a message. Four hours later STILL no return call so I called back talked to a very unfriendly guy that said there was a way but they wont say. BUT for $70 they will reset it using a code reader. wtf. Does anyone know what the proper order of button pushing to reset the oil reminder on a 2016 GLA 250 is?
Thanks Rich

Sorry about that. How do you reset it on a 2015?

I'm stuck too.

Thanks. The YouTube video explained it. Press Talk and then immediately hit OK.

Now that is intuitive.

So it seems Mercedes changed the firmware on my wife's GLA so I can no longer reset the ASSYT Plus oil change indicator.

I go to the service menu and then down to the ASSYT Plus and when I click on that, it says it needs service. There is no longer a menu for resetting.

Does anybody know of a new method for resetting the oil indicator?

Reset, Hooray!!!

To quote Hapa88, the commands are the same on the 2015 GLA but the key for me was the requirement for hitting the OK button within 5 seconds of getting the TRIP highlighted in the multi-function display.

Read instructions here. Ignition position 1 is pressing the start button once without your foot on the brake.
Ignition position 2 is pressing the start button a second time without your foot on the brake.

Quote:
To reset the 2015 Mercedes C-Class service interval, please follow these instructions:

1. Turn the ignition to position 1 (one position before starting the engine).
2. Press the system selection button (house icon located on the left of the steering wheel) repeatedly until the menu item TRIP is highlighted in the multi-function display. Within 5 seconds, press the OK button.
3. Press and hold phone button and then within 1 second press and hold down the OK button. Hold for 5 seconds then the workshop menu will be displayed "Vehicle data, Dynamometer Test, Change Brake Lining, ASSYST PLUS and Head-up Display".
4. Press the DOWN arrow repeatedly until ASSYST PLUS is highlighted and confirm with the OK button.
5. Press the DOWN arrow to highlight FULL SERVICE and confirm with the OK button.
6. Press the DOWN arrow repeatedly until CONFIRM SERV is highlighted and confirm with the OK button.
7. Specifiy engine oil used with the UP arrow and confirm with the OK button.
8. Press the DOWN arrow repeatedly until YES is highlighted and confirm with the OK button.
9. Press the DOWN arrow repeatedly until CONFIRM is highlighted and confirm with the OK button. "Full service completed" appears in the multi-function display.
10. Press the BACK (curved left arrow) button repeatedly until the standard display (total distance) appears in the display.
11. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
*Close all doors, windows, hood and trunk when performing reset
