2015 GLA 250 Lurches
new member here bought a 2015 gla 250 2 months ago with 60k miles. First Benz
Thing that bothers me, is that, most often on the first drive of the day, whether its AM or Afternoons, Once the car is started and backed out of driveway, and I put it in drive in E mode, if i accelerate at anything more than a very slow speed, the car lurches 2,3,4 times while its accelerating. It must look to other people if they are watching, that I don't know how to drive, or in drivers ed.
This can go on throughout the day,OR it can stop lurching if i'm driving for a while.
Any ideas as to what this is? I ran into a lady a few days ago and she says her 2016 gla 250 does the same thing. This can't be normal. Who builds a $40,000 suv that lurches?
Also I got so ticked off with this yesterday, that, while it was lurching, i gunned it, and took off like a bat out of ****.
Then the check engine light went on, and has been on since. Hope I didnt break the car.
I'm bringing it in to Mercedes Service on Tues, but have no confidence. Last week brought it in and if they cant repeat the issue they cant fix it. uggghhh

'E' mode, among other things in the ECU/TCU's quest for fuel economy, severely limits brisk acceleration. So if you give it more accelerator input than expected the program could get confused and lurch. Of course it could also be a faulty sensor input, to include the accelerator pedal (keep in mind drive-by-wire in modern cars).
Gunning it likely overrode the economy mode so no lurching. The program figured you needed the sudden acceleration for highway merging, passing, or whatever.
I prefer to just leave it in a normal mode and handle economy via my own programming. ;-)
