GLA250 Performance Upgrades
Hello All,
Looking to do some real performances upgrades to my GLA250. I've seen a lot of manufacturers claim numbers but, I also saw a video of someone do basically all the mods excluding a turbo upgrade and only gained 30whp and roughly the same TQ. They did a tune, downpipe, full exhaust, intercooler upgrade, Blow off valve spacer, ect. With Dyno numbers, I expected at least double that. I was wondering what others have done that pertain to the performance and real gains. Id appreciate any input. Thanks |
Not to be flippant or cruel - you crave a GLA43 - you can do a bit a research to find our how AMG brings up the performance of that engine - and that AMG worj is just not off-the-shelf plug-n-play... you might consider it a better investment to trade-up !

Of course I would like a GLA45 but, I only paid 22k for my GLA250 out the door,18k miles and a CPO. I dont want crazy power but, I would like some more "umph." and I want to see it, I just want to hear from others who have done the mods and if it was worth it, the video I saw was one opinion, They had dyno but, it didnt say what kind, I know theres loss on the dyno vs real numbers too.

Once you start down the dark path of modding, forever will it control your destiny. [been there, done that]
Good deal on your 250. Perhaps down the road a bit a similar good deal on a 45 AMG? |
.As I mentioned back in July I think it's worth considering a piggyback module for a simple plug and play performance boost. Clicky click They really do work.
I'm still running a Neuspeed Power Module on my Audi A5 and I am totally satisfied with the performance gains. So much so that I am putting off going with an actual ECU remap. |
An "octopus" style piggyback module is certainly a good way to go. I had a bad experience with an ECU tune on my A5 a number of years ago.
