GLA220 fault lights
Two weeks ago, my fiancee called me in a panic as she had a number of warning lights come up on the dash. Park brake, 4Matic, ESP and the engine light. She got the car home ok as none were RED.
Following day i got in and drove it round the block and initially i had all the same faults then they all went away except the engine warning. When i stopped up and let the car idle, they all came back again.
I contacted MB and got the shoulder shrug and it needs to be hooked up to Star to find out the codes, but nothing expresssed by them as to a possible cause. So i booked it in for a check just over a week later.
The following day i decided to give the car another run and nothing, no lights all back to nromal and has stayed like that since, over some 5-600 miles.
The car had been sat unused for the most part during lock down, maybe only doing 100 miles just to keep the tyres and battery OK.
Anyone have any experience of this happening or a possible pointer to the cause?
The car is a UK spec GLA220 AMG 4Matic
Incidentally I had a similar bunch of issues like this on my 2009 C250 that they wanted to replace the ACU after running a Star check and that turned out to be the ground lines on the two rear light clusters that were burning through and after sorting those the fault never came back. Nothing to do with the ACU, so it just goes to show that the Star diagnostics arent always correct
