DPF regeneration

Hello
Maybe someone might know...
I had engine light come on. It was a P2463..dpf full of soot and a ......... p238 map sensor faulty.
It was in limp mode,it went no faster than 3000 revs.
I put in a new map sensor in the front of engine .
That fault code cleared. It now runs like it should, revs and goes v fast.
However the engine light is still on and the P2463 is still showing.
I only have a basic scanner, not an icarsoft mb v2 or star.

I have taken it for a 40 min run but it is not regenerating.
Iknow when it has regenerated because the exhaust makes a tinkling noise when it does.I can hear it when I get out.
So the question is....
Will it eventually regen .Or should I have the dpf cleaned or should I buy a icarsoft mb2 so I can force it to regen?!!!
Thanks

If its full it will not regen and doubt you can clear with XDOS---send it out for cleaning!!

It's as you know a particulate filter and the fault code indicates it's full of soot, so resolve that issue first and foremost (it's about mechanical maintenance after all and not just clearing computer codes).

UPDATE
If it helps anyone one day.....
I phoned an independent merc garage.
I told them about the map (boost pressure sensor).
They said 'sounds like it needs a forced regen'.
I found someone local who had an autel obd with 'additional software'.
He was able activate the regen.
It said it was 319% full and may not work.
He drove it for 45 mins no faster than 30 mph as the scanner said.
He said the final soot figure was 1%.
The car has done 63000 miles.
I always wondered what the 'metal cooling down noise' from the exhaust was.
That is it during and/or after it's done it.

In a gasoline engine the "metal cooling down noise" is mostly from the very dissimilar metals in the catalytic converter.
