GLA as replacement for BMW X1 35i

Hi All, wondering about the GLA... it will be for my daughter. She is currently driving a 2013 BMW X1 35i. its a great little sleeper rocket with 300 HP, smooth I-6 N55 engine AWD

We also have had and have several MB's as well ( current GLE 43)

How is GLA as a performance car? does the 2wd handle well? it is "fun" to drive or rather a basic entry level MB.? Options and packages to recommend?

Looking at a 2018 or newer with under 25K miles... Also cross shopping a volvo XC40 and perhaps another X! or X2.

Not sure she will be happy with a car that is lazy to drive.

Any issues to look out for? we like to keep cars for 6 to 8 years and will put up to 100K miles on them before we sell them.

Thanks for any thoughts

This is our first 2021 GLA 2.0 turbo. Even non AMG is pretty powerful. I like the rgb interior and infotainment system is unique in 2nd generation. Do not know long term reliability of 2.0 but looks like this engine is used in other MB line up i.e GLB, C, GLC, E, even 2020 onward GLE 350 has 2.0 lol. I have GLE 2018 V6 which i prefer over 2020 GLE with puppy engine. Coming back to GLA I think it is very good daily commuter car with lot of power and head turning 2021model which is higher and wider than its 1st generation GLA. I bought this preowned it was a loaner car with just 9 k on it. It smells and feels like I just took out from show room. I think 2021 is delayed now because of covid. But u should be able to find 2018 or 19 1st gen. Actually we went to buy 2018 but the price difference was just 7 k so we decided to get this. I beleive engine is same as 1st gen GLA. I do not recomend 2014 through 2017 gla as they continue to improve engine but after that i beleive engine is pretty solid.. just my 2 cents..
