'15 GLA45 AMG - 4matic Haldex FWD with slip detection
Hello
Hoping some forum members can chime in on the 4motion on the '15 GLA45 AMG.
Im considering this vehicle, coming from an Audi quattro background.
It says this is a FWD car and when wheel slippage is detected it splits the distribution to 50/50 FWD/RWD bias.
Im concerned about deep winter driving conditions and general performance in our Canadian winters.
Any thoughts on how or is this a great winter driving car?

The awd works great in winter, the system transfers up to 50% when needed to the rear wheels so it offers great economy and all weather driving capability. Where in Canada are you from?
Fully variable 4MATIC all-wheel drive
• Up to 25% lighter than all-wheel-drive systems offered by competitors
• A two-piece propeller shaft transfers the power from the engine to the
rear axle
• An electro-hydraulically controlled multi-disc clutch is integrated with
the rear axle differential (AMG tuned for GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC)
• The multi-disc clutch immediately detects slip at the front axle and
channels the engine torque to the rear wheels as necessary - All this
takes place virtually without the driver noticing
• In normal driving, the 4MATIC system uses front-wheel drive in the
interests of optimum efficiency
• During spirited driving, the fully variable 4MATIC all-wheel drive splits
the torque between front and rear axle up to a ratio of 50:50 front to
rear
• 4MATIC adjusted according to selected setting of 3-stage ESP
(GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC only)

also amg sport suspension might really suck on ice pack and it's already on the firm side

We test fit the recommended winter tire and wheel for the GLA250 (18s) and they juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust fit.
