Got my 2018 GLA45 yesterday and drove 500 mile back home. Try not too hard on the car before break-in period is over. Compare to my other cars including 2010 S63 with 6.2 NA:
Pro: man this GLA is so solid, nimble, accelerated really quick (still in Comfort mode), steering feel great (not too light, tried a GLC43 which felt a bit light), Apple Car-play great, exhaust note amazing even without AMG exhaust button, excellent sleeper version without wing/black package, fuel economy way better than my 6.2 NA.
Cons: lots of features not found/included which is expected with its relatively low price (compared to brand new S or E AMGs), seat not as comfy as my S (expected),
it's a beauty isnt it! How are you finding it now ? Hope it's serving you well? I can imagine it being somewhat deficient on the cool tech side of things compared to an S class!
Though i swapped mine due to needing a bigger car, i loved every second of having it. It was a switched on monster all the time. What I loved most was that i can rev it right up through the first few gears, unlike my C63s whereby i can easily hit 50+ mph just in second gear, so getting those luscious exhaust sounds out of the gla is far far easier. The noise damping isnt great on the gla which just adds to the joy of enjoying that exhaust note. Also, i found it to be really light, nimble, turn in beautifully, great steering rack and just a blast to drive. It probably has one of the best stock exhausts out there. Lovely lovely vehicle. here's a few pics of my former beast.
I absolutely love my GLA45. I can drive it as daily car going everywhere without worry about parking. And when I want to smoke other suckers on the road, just creep up and slam the gas pedal, pulling away like a Lambo/911. Of course S63 has all the luxury but can't drive it as daily car.
Went to AMG Driving Academy in August, drove almost every AMG models (SL63, C63, CLA63, E63, C43, GT-S) but still love my GLA45, nimble, fun and practical.

Definitely the GLA can hold its own against the heavier, more powerful cars (you might mean CLS63 rather than CLA63 in your post) given how light and dinky it is in comparison and also the chassis is quite briliant. With Allwheel drive, while it will never be as fast from a stop compared to the latest E63/E63s, it can probably push you to 60 quicker than a C63s in real world use, and with the additional utility (ride height), can handle poor roads and is very robustly built. It is definitely quite small and easy to park for sure!

Got mine at FJ in Newport back at the end of July. What lead me to the GLA was a few times my GTR was in for service/warranty. I had a GLA 250 for a loaner. Really liked the size and the practicality. Of course it felt under-powered to me, so the GLA 45 was a better option for me. Since I never drove one. I watched and read all of the reviews. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed and I wasn't. Love it.

Wow, it's stunning! looks the part for sure. Really dig the detailing and the rear wing. I think that adds something that lacks from the C AMG series.

Here is a pic of the C63 S. I truly loved that car and it is one of the best cars I ever owned. Still miss it. However, am very much enjoying the GLA 45. Yes - I did get rid of it because of the GTR. My intent was to daily drive the GTR. I soon discovered that wasn't practical, and so I picked up the GLA 45 as a daily driver.

The C63 looks brilliant. I can see why you miss it ! I still get misty eyed when I think about my gla. it was truly a special vehicle but alas , I needed something with more trunk space and my wife refused to let me get a second car so I had to let it go and in its place I got a c63s estate. that helped alleviate the suffering somewhat
if I could do it again and get another gla 45, I'd definitely get the aero pack ! it is a great daily driver. A GTR ,.though I would love it ,would be too wide as a daily where I live , but boy would I have a permanent smile on my face if i had one of those super cars !
it is such a pity that you guys dont get the A45 hatch over there. for those that dont need the trunk space and ground clearance , the A45 is around gbp 5k cheaper and a bit sharper and faster. All that said though, while the GLA is more expensive , has more blind spots , it is bigger ,heavier , more practical , more comfortable without adaptive dampers and I would argue most importantly a little bit more fun because it reaches its limits a bit quicker than the A45. still it's a shame you guys dont get the choice because the A45 is an animal .
personally I would take the A35 hatch over the saloon any day and stick on a big fat aero kit on that bad boy !
