2015 GLA AMG vs 2016+ ones.. and then the S211
So, I've been seeing so many posts of horror stories, especially with the transmission on the first gen GLA 45 AMG. I don't know where i saw this, but apparently the software has been updated significantly, and the GLA AMGs after 2016 are pretty solid.
I`m in between a S212 and the GLA45. I already have another fun car, so honestly the wagon feels more like the practical/comfort car, but the used car value/deal on the GLA 45 seems really good.
is the GLA 45 AMG a really good deal (without too many issues), or should I just stay with the more normal S211 for comfort and space? the Benz will mainly be the family car, especially for longer road trips.
thanks in advance.

I had my 2015 since August of 2018. Bought it with 18k miles and today it went in for the DCT fluid service just under 30k. Dealership did say that it needed a complete software update. Didn't have any issues with the transmission. I don't track and have done some spirited driving. I did have one of the collusion detect radar sensors go out and was replaced under warranty. Managed to kit it up with a spare wheel from an ML63 for emergency blowouts together with a jack from a GLK. Mine has the sports suspension, seats and exhaust. Never had any issues with long distance driving with comfort which included gravel washboard roads in Arizona and Death valley. Again, that could be personal.
