Hi All, I’m looking to buy(from out of state dealer) a 2015 GLA45 and found one that seems to be in overall good condition according to the PPI performed. From the pictures on the PPI report it appears the exhaust has been altered, the car has “Renntech” badging on the fenders and all the factory emblems blacked out. These items lead to believe that the car may(or may not) have had or has a RennTech tune. Is there a way to find out for sure? All of my current and previously owned cars have been tuned and as far as I know short of having Mercedes check the CPU or the seller disclosing it there’s really no way to tell but maybe someone here knows of another way.
Another thing I’d like to know is what was done to the exhaust. From the pictures I see I would guess the resonator has been removed and replaced with straight pipe. Can anyone confirm?
Turns out the car does have a Renntech tune on it since June 2018. As for the exhaust, I can't really comment till I hear it but when I had my E63(biturbo) I had the resonator removed and absolutely loved the sound. Never felt it needed more with a muffler delete but this car being a 4cyl may be a different story.
