Driver Assistance Package Lite & Multimedia Package Lite
Hi all, I am looking at a used 2022 GLA45 AMG to buy. I found one and was able to get the build sheet for it. It has the Driver Assistance Package Lite (DAPL) & Multimedia Package Lite (MPL). WTF? Why the Lite? It looks like the DAPL has has everything the DAP has without the Pre-Safe Plus. Can someone explain to me what the Pre-Safe Plus actually does please and is it worth passing this car up for it? Also the MPL is missing the augmented video for navigation. Is this a deal breaker? Anyone use this? I usually use android auto for navigation anyways. Thanks in advance for any help with this matter.

I don't have actual knowledge, but I saw notices in the ordering guide that the "Distronic" option wasn't available in 2022. This is never explained, but it sounds like a radar unit to me. That would limit many of the driver aids, so I'm worried about it too. Maybe 2024 will be better, but Mercedes also seems to be moving to a lidar system in upper models, so who knows. Grill the dealer hard and let us know what you find.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I think the chip shortage has had alot to do with various features not being available for 2022. I agree that MB is moving to LIDAR given it's better accuracy than just cameras. That's how they've been able to achieve SAE level 3 for autonomous driving systems.
