From Cayman 981S to GLA45

Maybe I知 crazy. But I知 thinking about changing my 2015 Cayman S (60k miles) for a 2018 GLA45 (43k miles). Dealer is offering 2 years extended warranty and already put $9k maintenance on the GLA.

Well everything else aside, you are going from a coupe to an SUV, are you fine with that?

if you are looking for practicality, sure! If you think you may miss the driving dynamics of the of tha Cayman, don't do it. The GLA drives well, but it there is a noticeable difference with a sports car, and the Cayman offers one of the best driving dynamics.

(I have a GLA 45S which I enjoy everyday, and have had a Boxster in the past and a 911T now)

Do you need the practicality of an SUV or the Panamera in that case or do you want a fun vehicle go-kart like?

any particular Reason you didn't look at the CLA 45 instead?

Wife already have an eTron. Excellent eSUV, but limited distance and in Puerto Rico we don稚 have yet a good charging station program.
For a sedan, I prefer to stay with the Cayman. The Cayman is my DD. Previously was an Evora. I looked at the Panamera because I like the wagon looks of the Sport Turismo. Same with the GLA45, I love the look even though I知 48 xD.
I then past I was married to AMG (E55, C63 and SLK55).
And yes, i prefer a fun adult go-kart.

The GLA 45S actually has 40hp more than the 911, but the 911T weighs about 500 pounds less. I have a mild tune on the 911 and HP is now about equal.

The 911 is a "momentum" sports car (it is not the fastest car off the line but once it gets going is gets into a great rhythm and accelerates just fine when underway). It is definitely sportier than the GLA thanks to its design, lower center of gravity and lower weight. The build on the 911 is better...it doesn't buzz and everything feels a bit tighter. Mine is guards red and draws alot of attention. The Bose system sounds great.

The GLA is a raised hot hatch and it feels like it. It draws no attention at all (mine is magneto matte gray) which is something I value for a daily driver...although the 911 is perfectly fine daily driver (in previous jobs I've driven 911s to the office) in my current job I'd rather not take a flashy car to the office. It also draws no attention from street vendors where I live. The GLA is taller providing a better vantage point to see ahead in traffic. And it's taller ride height and beefier tires are better for tall speed bumps and deep gulleys at intersections here (the 911 has a factory front lip lift that's essential). My GLA has a nicer interior than the 911 (brown leather and dark wood) but that is a matter of specs and personal preference for each car. The Burmester sound system is very clear and good but not as full as the 911's Bose. I prefer the Mbux system to integrate smartphones to the Porsche system.

My preference for pure driving is the 911T. For my daily driving needs, practicality and carrying 4 adults, the GLA. In the end, they are 2 different animals.

With the GLA I also will save $200+ on the monthly payments. The cayman is an excellent car. Maybe in getting old! lol!
