Issue with Clock on GLB35

Having an issue where everyday the first time I start the car the clock is WRONG. I have to shut the car off, open door to shutdown the MBUX system, shut door and start again and time will be accurate. See video. Anyone have any ideas on this? Dealership is perplexed (as usual) and I think it's up to me to figure out what's going on. Here's a short video clip.

I have been having the same issue with 2021 GLB 4Matic that is only 3 weeks old. Sent email to Mercedes tech support through Mercedes Me website, and they referred me to dealership. First few times it happened the car was looking for USB as an input source vs. Radio. I wonder if it is related to input source when the car starts. It does not happen every time. But every few days and only in the morning when I start the car. Did not have time to go to dealer.

I'm not everytime either..7 out of 10 maybe less...My salesman and two separate repair facilities both stumped. Keep me posted if you find a fix and I will do the same.

I spent some time yesterday looking over different forums and it appears that this problem exists in GLA, GLB, GLC, and GLE models and the only common thread they are all newly purchased 2021 models. All stated that they took the car to dealer without any luck on resolving it. Some think it relates to GPS signal, but no one really knows what the actual problem is, or how to fix it. Sounds like an software bug on new 2021 models. I also saw one post, where someone went into setting, and into a clock manual mode and adjusted time, however as soon as time updated itself automatically their clock was off by the minutes it was manually adjusted.

I will try to reply to original email from Mercedes ME tech support with description of multiple 2021 models having same issue with the clock and see what they say. I took 30 sec video this morning on car resetting it's clock after shutting engine off and restarting it and will try to email it to them.

These are the worst problems to have with a Mercedes. These small annoying things they can't fix. Went through it with a key on a 2020 GLE450. Took over a year for MB to finally fix the key issue. I expect the same with this. I'm also having loud noisy breaks they can't fix either.

So my salesman told me today that MB is aware of this clock issue and a fix is coming, might be in the form of a recall. Then my Service advisor (another dealership) said he should be able to fix when I bring the car in to check the squeaky breaks. So, if MB is aware, that's usually the greatest hurdle.

bkushner:

I know it's not really related to your issue, but I would appreciate the input on turbo/4matic badge on the front fenders. I think it comes standard with AMG trims and I was just wondering how it looks. If it does, would you mind share a picture?

Thanks.

Are you referring to this? I haven't paid it much attention. It's pretty small.

Just got back from service. The bulletin that refers to the clock fix is LI54.30-p-072145 - It mentions a new software release to fix the clock. I will have to wait a few days to see if it worked.

Thank you for the update with bulletin number. I have a dealer appointment next week, hopefully it will fix this issue.

I'm having the same issue on my 2021 GLB. What do I need to tell my dealer for the fix?

Tell them there is software update available from MB to fix this issue. Please refer to bkushner response above with bulletin #LI54.30-p-072145. When I came in to the dealer and told them that there was an update bulletin available, they found it without me telling them what # it was.

Hope this helps.

This must be 2021 MBUX software issue. I saw the same complaint on GLA, GLB, GLC and GLE forum threads.

Read the entire thread. MB has a software update to fix the issue. You will find the MB bulletin number in the thread, if dealer cannot figure it out.

I noticed this week that clock issue came back. Not sure if there was an over the air software update that screwed up the clock fix.

Anyone else starting to have this issue again?

OH MY GOSH ME TOO, and it's made me INSANE. I got this car (a 2021) in Dec 2020, and it's done it since about the 3rd day I had it. Then for a while it will stop and all will seem fine. Until it goes back to acting crazy. I've tried all the tricks and tips people have recommended. Filmed it as well as you did, so I could prove/show what's happening. Also like you, the dealer has no clue. A factory reset of the software did nothing to change the issue.

I had my car since December 2020 like you. I had this issue from day one, which apparently was very common across most of MBUX 2021 models (GLA, GLB, GLC, and GLE's). If you search other threads for this issue you will find plenty. Went to the dealer and they updated the software. Did not have this issue again for about 6 months or so. Since then, once in a while I find this issue crop up for few days here or there and go away on it's own. My best guess is when MB sends over the air software update, sometimes it replicates this original bug and then fixes it with another over the air update. I had other issues related to over the air updates, where the car will not change siting and mirror positions from one "Profile" to another after an update. Luckily I have it saved in the seat memory, as well.
If your issue never went away go to the dealer and ask to update your software for time clock issue. One of the earlier posts on this thread reference MB "topic number" for this issue.

My dealer fixed it right away. Said it was a software issue. There were many other models built the same time that had the issue so I'm surprised your dealer doesn't know about this.

My shop is MB of Wilmington Delaware.....my service rep is Jason...call him and I bet he'll know what you can tell your shop.
