No instrument light on Turn Signal Knob

No instrument light on Turn Signal Knob
I was driving to work this morning when it was still dark and raining, and noticed that there were no backlight on the turn signal knob. I was trying to turn the back windshield wiper on and could not see the button. All other switches had internal lights and were easy to see.
I could not tell if the designations on the turn signal knob were painted or lighted.
Curious if anyone noticed lights on the turn signal knob. Trying to figure out if it is by design or I have to call the dealer.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
