Burmester Audio and base

I have the Burmester audio system in my GLB and I cannot figure out how to give any music any actual bass. I have the bass setting all the way up to 10 in the equalizer. There doesn’t seem to be much of a difference between 0 and 10. Anyone else experiencing this? What setting are you using?

I've found the Burmester audio system in my GLB 35 to be very lackluster. It always sounds flat, no matter what EQ settings you change.

Hi

Unless you use apps like Boom or EQ that controls sound quality through your phone you’re out of luck with great sound quality. I elected not to have it in my GLB and I am pleased with the complete sound quality it provides. As a matter of fact I’ve had to lower the bass to about 7 on the non- Burmester. I don’t get the hype and at $850; it’s not worth it.

Burmesters are complete C-R-A-P
I dont know what made Mercedes to switch from Harman Kardons to Burmesters for their Cars. Regardless of Premium or Standard Audio setup OR 12 or 19 speakers.. the speakers have absolute no Bass and clarity.
Had the Premium Burmester System in my 2020 CLA which sounds the same as in my 2020 GLB with Standard Burmesters. There's hardly any difference!

I earlier thought that Mercedes may tweak and change the supplier after all these bad feedbacks given by the users but looks like they are in love with this German Accoustics company as they used the same even in new S-Class as well as Premium ultra expensive EQS!

Just picked up a new GLB 250 a few hours ago. Stereo is OK, but it does need bass (not the fish). First order of business will be a 12” or 15” sub install (I have both sitting around the house). Overall please. Coming out of a 2018 GLA 250 Ice Edition.

Thanks!

Harman Kardons on my GLK350 were much better than the Burmester.... Music was much more fulfilling inside the car... GLK350 dashboard has 3 big speakers on full width of the car vs 1 on the centre on GLB. Used 2018 GLE at the dealer had the same Harman Kardon speakers, but after that MB changed it. X3 that I test drove had the same 1 center speaker surround system. Even my managers 7 series BMW has similar 1 speaker in the front with surround system which felt lacking in the sounds....

Hi,

I agree! I had it in my GLC and wasn’t impressed. I elected not to get it in my GLB this time and I haven’t looked back.

I have to agree it's lackluster at best but what really helps is if you go into the settings and you put it at -4 the mid this will take some of the sound away from the front and that will make it sound much much better it was very troubling and flat sounding before but once I put the sound away from the front speakers a little bit negative four towards the back it sounds much much better. It sounds great with the XM radio but not so much Spotify and YouTube my last car had the green edge Harmon kordon speakers much better system and also you have to realize the car is like a cube there's a lot of interior space so what I realized is that my ears were not close to the speakers my other car the Dodge charger scat pack is a smaller interior that's why it sounded louder. I would still say I expected better sound system but if you wanted to sound better I would go with -4

Love it but hate it at the same time it's been 2 months car performs great handles amazing and it's great on gas easy to drive easy to park the gauges are unbelievable fully digital but I have to admit that there's some quality issues coming from Mexico because of the cheaper labor over there don't expect them to build you a good car what I mean is it's still a Mercedes but all glbs and AMG glbs are built in Mexico because of the cheaper labor they're building it more cheaply a few things the fenders don't line up the steering wheels peeling water leaks into the door frames there's oxidation on the mirror that doesn't come off the lip spoiler comes loose and the climate control molding comes loose they don't build them right over there very disappointed in that aspect but once I drive it especially at night I love it. I may try to get them to buy it back or they give me another car I'm not sure what to do so many little things near the headlights where it meets the fender there's a hole where water can get in it's not right they didn't build it right slight imperfections but there are so many.

Try the negative four option on the mid go to your settings and adjust your mid to -4 it will sound much better trust me you're welcome LOL

Best setting for sound system in glb 35 AMG

Yes to be exact I'll tell you right now you go to your settings system audio entertainment put your bass on 10 put your treble on nine put your mid on plus one. Then go to balance and fader put your fader on negative four that's what I meant to say then go to sound focus and focus only on the front seats it sounds great like this your sound profiles should be surround and your sound focus should be only on the front sounds the best this way but the fader on -4 is what makes the biggest difference.

Also you can access to MBUX dealer mode to change settings:

Go to settings and quick access, swipe left 6 times on the touch and enter the mode...

With your audio settings, is there any sound advantage in the Burmeister over the base system? What's the difference in components that you get?

I have no issue with the base with the Burmeister system. You get more watts and a sub woofer mounted in the rear bottom of the cargo area. I also set my system to surround sound.

If you have base audio turn the mid and treble all the way up to the max. It will then sound like a normal radio and not absolute crap.

I think the optional Burmester sounds wonderful on the S-Class. Only on that car for some reason.

Bro sorry to dissapoint you and this is for everyone who wants a benz with the best audio system.
burmester high end in a s560 2018 for me it s a big mistake.
It doesn’t have power to sound good, it sounds clearly but no way i m giving volume level max and i still want to get it more higher. its because its highest level for the system is the medium level for me 😂

i had some cars with good system audio
bang olufsen on bmw doesn’t sound clearly like this but the power of the speakers was more loud with 30-40%.
i had a 1600w Dynaudio Concert on vw phaeton and trust me it can t compare..
in dynaudio the sound enters your ear directly 😂 for those who knows

6000€ for Burmester on the Mercedes i think it s a big mistake. I would like to change Mercedes after this.
going for some Bang olufsen in audi a8

have nice roads brothers
mercedes took a really wrong decision with the BURMESTER as principal partener in making audio systema.
