Hi guys

is there a way to make your preset radio stations the default display? I have it in the middle screen on the driver dash so I can change the station quickly, but the stations default to Fm/dab - of which there are hundreds of stations. Every time I start the car it defaults to this and I have to go in and change to presets. I’m in and out of my car a lot through the day and it’s driving me crazy!

surely there’s a way to make the presets the default on the menu???

 

I have the same issue. I set my middle driver screen on Radio pre-set stations (since it is convenient to scroll through radio stations with the wheel sensory pad) but half of the time when I start the car it's on either USB input or my phone input, there is no consistency at all. I am sure it is a software bug. One more annoying thing is that every time I use any Android Auto faction (making a call or ask for direction) the pre-set radio station function switches to radio tuning. So annoying.
I scheduled my service A at the end of the months and emailed dealer the list of other minor issues (like seat moving forward instead of backwards on Easy/Exit function), but I am guessing they will just update the software and call it job done.

Whatever I put to see in the middle screen of the driver dash, it moves to the other options during driving. Now I switch to tire pressure, it is less of an issue. When I have 4 options, it switches to other options by itself.. I have not used it for music though I was thinking it...

 

What’s the point in having presets if you have to continually and manually have to switch from every station to the presets?!? Far more annoying than it should be. 😅😅😅

 

I too have this problem unless I am using Spotify. I use voice command to take me to the station I want.

Another question; does your voice command activate when you say ‘ Mercedes’ , without the ‘hey’? Ours does, they won’t even give me an answer to why, so we have to call our vehicle a BMW when driving. Annoying and funny at the same time. This is my third and last Mercedes, the quality and support is less than Toyota, Mazda and Honda ( from discussions with friends)

 

I have not had an issues with just "Mercedes" phrase, however I did see a lot of reviews of this issue with 2020 model year. It seams like microphone sensitivity got lowered on a later software update, since sometimes it will not response to "Hey Mercedes". They also took away the "Tell me the joke" option from 2021 model year as well. 2020 model year had that, and current model year GLE's still have it as well.

 

After dealer visit and software update the radio issue remains the same. When car starts it would randomly start media input as "USB" or "Radio" and 95% of the time will switch automatically to Spotify as soon as I plug in my phone. And every time I use Android Auto function it would drop preset radio stations to tuning.

Dealer Notes: "Connected SDS, Connected battery charger, checked for new software in MBUX control unit, performed control unit update and uploaded files."

On the positive side they updated seat control unit software and were able to fix my Easy Entry/Exit issue, when the seat was trying to crash me into the steering wheel . They also fixed couple of other issues. So overall it was a good trip to the dealer.
